"Refreshing" - The Record Industry.com

(A review of Thump the Villain v1.3)

"It’s actually quite brilliant, albeit music for the open-minded and those accustomed to the truly eclectic (Penguin Café Orchestra anyone?) For one thing, the sonic minimalism and slight dissonance of “Sofa Life,” with its processed, robotic vocal on what passes for a bridge, owes a huge debt to San Francisco performance art band, The Residents. Looking over Terry’s own list of Influences, I think it’s safe to describe The Realside as, say, Coldplay meets Frank Zappa, though his influences are certainly many and varied. These songs would work great as instrumentals as well and might take on a completely new shape when not emphasized by a vocal"
